2021 Briar Ridge Briar Hill Chardonnay

Matured for 15 months in 100% new French oak. Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Pronounced peach, nectarine, bees wax and lemon butter scents fill the nostrils followed by some crème brulee, bacon fat and spice notes. Rich and creamy in texture yet finishing with good freshness, mouthfilling flavours of peach, nectarine and honeycomb overlay a crème brulee, bacon fat and citrusy nougat back drop. Finely tuned acidity with a long aftertaste that has a textured yet refined feel to it. Gold medal and trophy winner for best Hunter Valley Chardonnay at the 2022 James Halliday Australia Wine Challenge.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
