2021 Brokenwood Chardonnay

Matured in French oak barriques, fruit was primarily sourced from Beechworth with other components coming from the Yarra Valley and Tumbarumba. Brilliant very pale straw almost water like core with greenish tinged edges. Aromas of white peach and dried honey mix with some biscuity oak notes, cashew and delicate citrusy nougat. Light to mid weight with good focus and a refined feel, the palate is detailed with nectarine and white peach fruits which meld into a back drop of subtle dried honey, nougat, biscuity oak and infusions of gun flint. Good intensity finishing with a burst of fresh acidity. Elegant medium to long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
