2021 Campbells Bobbie Burns Shiraz
Dense inky black heart with a dark red black tinged hue. Spicy blackberry, dark plum and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils with some toasty vanillin cedar and peppered earth notes also evident. Rich blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits reign over a back drop of toasty vanillin oak, earth and pepper. Ripe fleshy texture with a sturdy tannin structure. Youthfully inky it concludes long, concentrated and juicy. An ever-reliable Rutherglen red that delivers the goods once again.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews....
You have to admire not only the value for money offered by Bobbie Burns but its outstanding ability to be good drinking in its youth and age extraordinarily well. Offers Bobbie-style upfront purple hues, fruit that sings in ripe blackberry, chocolate, a world of spice and the kind of intensity of flavour that lingers on and on. It's devoid of winemaking excess, just honest, upfront fruit off old vines nicely enhanced by discreet oak. Drink by 2031.
