For over four generations, the Catena family has grown vines in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina. Laura Catena, great-granddaughter of winery founder Nicola Catena, is currently at the helm. Produced from a blend of four vineyards harvested at different times, this excellent fuller style Chardonnay is matured for 6-8 months in French oak barrels of varying ages.

A beautifully balanced Mendoza Chardonnay that delivers great value.

Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with a watery hue. Showing plenty of intensity out of the glass are aromas of ripe peach, honeycomb and crème brulee which are followed by hints of bacon fat and spicy nougat. Rich mouth coating flavours of peach, apricot, honeycomb and crème brulee wrap themselves around the palate with a voluminous feel. Excellent concentration with notions of bacon fat, nougat and wet stone elements also chiming in. Finishes with good freshness and a long creamy textured aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Peaches, baked apples, apricot pie and lemon curd on the nose. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and a creamy, succulent palate. Clean and fresh. Sustainable. Drink now.
