So named as Shiraz is synonymous with the Barossa, Chaffey Bros is a collaboration of brothers in law Daniel Chaffey Hartwig and Theo Engela who are at the forefront of the new wave of Barossa winemakers. From a benchmark year this sumptuous Barossa Shiraz delivers all you could wish for in a bold Shiraz at a price that delivers terrific bang for your buck.

Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Wafting out of the glass are heady scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and blueberry which are complimented by some fennel, subtlety smoked vanillin cedar and peppered earth notes. Rich, plush and deeply concentrated, the weighty palate is flush with succulent blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Lending further interest across the back half are notions of spicy vanillin cedar, earthy dark chocolate and peppered fennel. Opulently textured, it has velvet smooth tannins yet there’s an underlyingly sturdy structural presence. Boasting superb power, the finish is long and super fleshy.
