2021 Chalk Hill Barbera

Matured in third use French oak barrels. Inky black in colour with a bright youthful looking dark purple red hue. Attractively scented and possessing good intensity, ripe dark cherry, blueberry and liquorice scents flow from the glass with some inky earth and spice notes also present. Vibrant crunchy like acidity underpins juicy cherry and blueberry fruits on the mid weighted palate. Some light earth and spice is also present. Finishes dry and inky with a prickly sensation on the aftertaste due to the high acidity.
