2021 Cimicky Autograph Basket Pressed Durif

A dense, palate staining red with a robust tannin structure.

Matured for 26 months in 20% new American oak, 40% one year old French and 40% American oak hogsheads. Impenetrable inky black colour with an equally deep black dark red hue. Intense ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas waft through the nostrils followed by hints of morello cherry, vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes. Rich, dense and concentrated the palate is stained with lush black cherry, liquorice and black plum fruit. Vanillin oak, scorched earth and spicy pepper characters lurk beneath. Excellent power with a robust yet integrated tannin structure. Concludes long, opulent and chewy.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
