2021 Condie Giarracca Sangiovese

Dark red in colour with black toned edges and a red hue. Lifted red currant and red cherry aromas mix with earth, tobacco, dried herb and spice notes. The elegant mid weighted palate features red currant and cherry flavours over dusty earth, tobacco and dried herb characters. Bright acidity and fine grained tannins with a light savoury finish.

Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Matured for 14 months in used French oak. This is a sangiovese with a bit of style. It captures the essence of the variety well. It's not big but it manages to be both fluid and structured, its cherried flavours ably infused with Italian herbs. The flavours are one thing but the interplay between acid and tannin is where it really shows its class. Bravo. This is a good wine. Drink by 2027.
