2021 Derwent Estate Chardonnay
Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine, white peach and citrus mix with hints of dried honey, biscuity oak and gun flint. Fleshy nectarine and pear fruits overlay a back drop of dried honey, toasted biscuity oak and infusions of gun flint. Nicely rounded mid palate feel finishing dry with a burst of freshness on the long refined aftertaste that has a cream tinged feel to it.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
A creamy Derwent Valley chardonnay that shows pure citrus, nectarine and peach fruits with hints of lemon butter, clotted cream, soft spice, vanillin, white flowers and a touch of marzipan. Concentrated and expansive, fine acidity holding everything in place and driving the wine to a creamy citrus finish. Drink by 2030.
