2021 Deviation Road Pinot Noir
Aged in French oak barrels of which 25% were new. Slightly cloudy red colour with dark red tinged edges and a light red hue. Alluring violet, ripe red cherry and strawberry scents have a perfumed like intensity with fresh herb and subtle spicy anise also evident. Delicious ripe cherry and strawberry fruits are delivered with great drive and a lively freshness. Infusions of fresh herbs, light forest floor and delicate spicy cedar lie underneath. Bright acidity and polished tannins with a long fruit driven finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews….
Matured in French oak (25% new). Just bottled and this little gem is looking and delivering the goods already. Mid red and cloudy, it's delicate in fragrance, supple in texture and what spice on the palate! Smart winemaking here. Light use of whole bunches brings an added complexity and interest throughout, combined with the plummy, cherry-filled drink-now pleasure that carbonic maceration brings. All up, a carefully managed youngster with time on its hands. Drink by 2027.
