2021 Domaine de Cala Rose
Made from a blend of 60% Cinsault, 30% Grenache Noir, 8% Syrah and 2% Rolle grapes. Translucent salmon pink tinged colour. Delightful peach, strawberry and raspberry scents evolve out of the glass with hints of musk and wet stone also evident. Delicious peach and spicy raspberry flavours carry a supple feel with delicate infusions of musk and stony mineral characters lying underneath. Finishes dry with brisk acidity and a slippery textured wet stone infused aftertaste.
Drink over the next year.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews….
I guess when you open a rosé, your mind starts to wander to spring and summer, though I must confess, I’m rather fond of autumn and winter.
Pale in colour with tangerine, spice, redcurrant, slight smokiness, and fennel. Crisp and crunchy, bright tang of citrus fruits, powdery texture, and a rosehip and pomegranate finish of good length. It can be served very cold, and it’s still good, or cool, where it becomes more complex. This is a good thing, as you can have a bet each way. Drink 2022-2025.
