Impenetrable super saturated inky black colour with an equally deep black dark red hue. Wafting from the glass are heady aromas of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by some vanillin cedar, mocha, earth and peppered fennel like notes. Rich, full bodied and lavishly textured the palate is flooded with opulent blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Vanillin cedar, earthy mocha, fennel and pepper characters ensue. Very polished yet structurally sturdy tannin framework with fresh acidity providing underlying energy. Powerful with a long sumptuous yet vibrant finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews…..
Dense, opaque, old-blood liquid that stains the glass as it is swirled – as with the ’20 a year ago. There are untold layers of very black fruits here, plus a dab of chocolate borrowed from McLaren Vale. I'm not in two minds about this, it's more like 20. So precocious. Drink by 2071.
