2021 Holm Oak Pinot Noir
Semi translucent dark red colour with black shaded edges and a bright red hue. Pretty aromatics of violets, red cherries, strawberries and anise blossom out of the glass with plenty of intensity. Subtle spicy cedar and fresh herb notes are also evident. Light in body and possessing a youthful energetic feel, the palate is decorated with delicious red cherry and strawberry fruits which overlay a back drop of subtle spicy cedar, forest floor and herb infusions. Fresh finish with polished tannins and an elegant red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
A magic carpet of seven clones (in separate blocks) were picked between March 20 and April 16. All batches were destemmed and hand in small open fermenters, matured for 10 months in French oak (20% new). The colour is a massive come-on, deep in pinot terms, and the palate duly delivers, spicy tannins running through the black cherry and plum fruit in an even, lingering stream.
Drink to 2036.
