A well structured Clare Valley Shiraz that combines elegance with freshness and power.

Impenetrable inky black colour with an equally deep dark red black hue. Pronounced liquorice, blackberry and dark plum scents flood the nostrils followed by vanillin cedar, faint choc mint and peppered earth notes. Rich fleshy dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits carry a fresh energetic feel. Vanillin cedar, delicate mint and peppered earth elements the undercard. Firm yet refined tannin structure with a long finish that combines elegance with freshness and power.
Cellar 8-10 years.
Alc. 14.2%

Other Reviews…..
The 2021 The McRae Wood Shiraz is powerful and succulent, with a juicy array of red and purple fruit that is crowded by dusty, spicy tannins. The fruit for this wine is sourced from a number of different vineyards across Clare Valley. 14.3% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink 2024-2036.

Iron, blackberries, mulberries, cloves and rosemary on the nose of this full-bodied and focused red. It’s sleek and polished with a savory freshness and seamless tannins. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
