2021 Julien Sunier Morgon
Semi translucent red to dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. The nose offers up a fragrant mix of violets and sour to red cherry scents followed by some incense, spicy fresh herb and earth notes. Delicious red cherry fruits infused with fresh herbs are complimented by some sour cherries, subtle clove, earth, stony elements and spiced meats. Polished tannins. Finishes with plenty of freshness and energy. The aftertaste long, elegant and savoury.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12%

From a bunch of low-yielding plots. One of the great names of Beaujolais.
This is it. So pure, so fine, lacy with silty tannins, flecked with gentle fennel and garrigue herbal detail, truffle, all the dark cherry, rose hip tea. It’s floral and fragrant but delivers earthiness and savouriness too. It’s juicy but that swish of tannins builds, fine silky ribbons that tighten to a cooling pucker to close. Depth and detail in spades. Sour-cherry and game meat lingers. Wonderful drinking here. Drink 2022-2035.

Effusive nose of wild strawberries. This may be only on the lower edge of medium-bodied, but it has an excellent tannin structure and complex wild strawberry, redcurrant and red cherry aromas with delicate notes of garden herbs. Long structured finish with good wet stone minerality. A cuvee of six different vineyard sites. Matured for nine months in cask. Drink or hold.
