2021 Kanta Riesling

Kanta Riesling by Egon Müller is a unique winemaking partnership where German tradition and precision meets the premium, cool climate fruit from the Adelaide Hills.

Brilliant very pale straw water like colour with a faint tinge of green around the outskirts. Pronounced lemon and lime scents are complexed by notions of oily toast, orange blossom and steely mineral notes. Crunchy lemon and lime fruits are delivered with terrific intensity over a back drop of orange blossom infusions, subtle steely kerosene like characters and flinty mineral elements. Lovely rounded mid palate feel with crisp racy acidity running through the long, dry, zippy finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Fruit was hand picked and whole-bunch pressed, without any additions. Wild fermented to dry. Lees handling provides additional nourishment. Tight, steely, sulphurous and limey upon opening. The bane of screw cap. An aggressive swoosh liberates camphor, orange bitters and cumquat. The fly of chalky salinity, juicy acidity and Meyer lemon pucker, serves as the lattice, the stage, to drive this delicious wine into a long future. Drink by 2032.
