2021 Kay Brothers Amery Vineyard Basket Pressed Cabernet

Matured for 17 months in French oak barrels. Midnight black heart with a dark red black tinged hue. Elevated blackcurrant and ripe mulberry aromas are trailed by vanillin cedar, subtle tobacco and bay leaf notes. Medium bodied the palate is relatively elegant and has a moderately concentrated flavour profile of red to black currant and mulberry fruits over vanillin cedar, delicate tobacco and bay leaf accents. Fine grained tannins concluding relatively fresh and refined.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

It will hold, and yet the evergreen garden herbs, crushed blackcurrants, olives and sage, with just the right amount of tannic tension on the medium-bodied palate, is joyous. Thrilling drinking.
