2021 Kilikanoon Covenant Shiraz

Rich, plush and amply weighted with a structured tannin framework and a long sumptuous finish.

Matured in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for a period of 14 months. Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense liquorice, dark plum and black cherry scents stream from the glass trailed by some smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth notes. Rich, plush and amply weighted, the palate is awash with succulent dark plum, liquorice and black cherry fruits. Gently smoked vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and blackpepper elements lie underneath. Showing excellent power and depth it has a velvet smooth yet structured tannin framework and a long sumptuous finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Stylish, elegant and poised. Here is a Shiraz from the Clare Valley that presents with such polish and refinement. Aromas are all dark chocolate and liqueur plummy cherry nuances. The palate reaches out with dark chocolate and dark plum laced with fine chalky tannins and seamlessly integrated oak. This is classy Shiraz from a very good season. Drink 2024-2034.
