2021 Neldner Road by Dave Powell Barossa & Eden Valleys Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Engulfing the olfactory senses are aromas of dark plum, liquorice and blackberry with hints of ripe blueberry, vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and spice also evident. Rich plush dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits are delivered with terrific purity and concentration. There’s an underlying blueberry like freshness with vanillin cedar, subtle earthy mocha and spice elements lingering in the background. Velvet smooth yet structurally sound tannins. Concludes long, powerful and opulently textured.

Beautifully seamless and energetic aromas of white pepper, sage, violets and new leather with a finely tuned oak backbone. There is a natural and unforced palate generosity with dark cherry flavors accented with smoky bacon fat and a nice little kick of tannins to finish with superb balance. Drink 2026-2038.
