2021 Paolo Scavino Dolcetto d’Alba

From 50 year old vines. Midnight black core with a bright purple black tinged hue. Nosing offers up expressive freshly crushed morello cherry and plum scents which are interwoven with liquorice, vanilla and spicy earth. Juicy and fresh the palate is awash with blackberry, plum and liquorice fruits which sit over an vanillin earth, dried herb and spice back drop. Well fleshed its supported by bright acidity and slightly grainy tannins. Nicely concentrated it finishes long and succulent with a youthful inkiness.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
