2021 Peregrine Saddleback Pinot Noir
Fruit was sourced from Peregrine’s Bendigo Estate, Gibbston and select Cromwell basin sites. Most of the fruit was destemmed with a small portion of whole clusters included in fermentation. Matured for 10 months in older French oak.
Deep dark red core with black toned edges and a dark red hue. The nose has a perfumed like quality to it with scents of violets, dark to black cherries, anise and dark plum streaming through the nostrils. Some subtle toasty cedar, dried herb and forest floor notes are also evident. Light to medium weight, the richly fruited palate carries plenty of appeal with a fleshy feel and abundant spicy dark to black cherries, dark plum and anise flavours. Subtle earth, delicately toasted cedar and dried herb elements linger underneath. Velvet like tannins finishing long and juicy.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
