2021 Pio Cesare Rosy Rosato Langhe DOC

Pio Cesare have been making wines in their ancient cellars in central Alba for 141 years, from vineyards based primarily in Barolo and Barbaresco. Today, fifth generation Federica Boffa with her cousin Cesare Benvenuto lead this prestigious estate, after the untimely passing of Pio Boffa in 2021 who was the face of Pio Cesare for 40 years.
Produced from mainly Nebbiolo grapes along with a small amount of Syrah. Very pale amber salmon like colour. Aromas of cherry, blood orange and raspberry show good lift out of the glass followed by some wet stone notes. Intense tangy cherry and blood orange fruits drive the palate underscored by citrusy acidity and wet stone characters. Slippery mid palate feel finishing dry and lively with a long shimmering spicy blood orange tinged aftertaste.
