Yabby Lake’s second label, Red Claw, regularly delivers great value across the range. Produced with the inclusion of 10% whole bunch fruit the wine was matured in French oak puncheons for 10 months.

Semi translucent red to dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Blossoming from the glass are fragrant aromatics of red cherries, violets and strawberries which are trailed by some anise, light forest floor and fresh herb notes. Making a subtle entrance are delicious ripe red cherry and strawberry fruits which fan out like a peacocks tail across the palate. Subtle anise, dried herb, forest floor and spicy cedar characters chime in on the back half. Excellent depth and balance, fresh acidity and a silky tannin structure leading into a long expansive conclusion.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews....
Hand-picked and sorted; open fermented with 10 per cent whole bunches, and matured in used French puncheons. The perfumed spicy, foresty bouquet catches attention, reinforced by the medium-bodied palate where red cherries/berries have the depth of fruit others lack. Drink to 2029.
