2021 Tiefenbrunner Merus Pinot Grigio

Founded in 1848 Tiefenbrunner is considered to be a benchmark producer in the Alto-Adige region. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks followed by four months ageing on lees in concrete vats.
Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Nosing offers up aromas of pear, ripe Jonathan apple and dried honey followed by some stony notes and a whiff of spice. Possessing excellent concentration and a texturally full, well rounded entry, the palate is richly flavoured with ripe pear and Jonathan apple fruit. Notions of honeysuckle and wet stone linger on the back half. A burst of brisk acidity enlivens the long generous finish.
