2021 Whistling Eagle Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Impenetrable midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Lifted ripe blackcurrant and blueberry aromas mix with liquorice and hints of plum. Vanillin cedar, subtle dried herb and spice notes ensue. Rich succulent blackcurrant, plum, liquorice and blueberry fruits carry a plump feel. Backed by a sturdy tannin structure, vanillin cedar, dried herb and spice elements linger underneath. The amply fruited finish long and slightly chewy.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
Brings both the power and the charm that resides in Heathcote cabernet sauvignon to the glass. The power lies in the concentration of black fruit and its collaboration with ripe, firm tannins. The charm? Well, it's freely expressed in lifted violet, acacia, oregano, leaf and earth. Woodsmoke oak works its way gently, persuasively across both parties. Lovely. Drink by 2033.
