2021 Whistling Eagle Vineyard GSM

Renown Heathcote grower and viticulturalist Ian Rathjen has expanded his Whistling Eagle offering with this seductive GSM which is comprised of 40% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 20% Malbec. The Grenache and Malbec come from young vines of around 6 years old whilst the Shiraz is from vines between 14 to 18 years old with maturation taking place in 2 to 6 year old French oak barrels for a period of 12 months. 

A voluptuous, powerhouse GSM from one of Heathcote’s finest producers.

Deep black dark red colour with a dark purple. Expressive dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum scents engulf the nostrils with some confectionary and peppered dried herb notes also evident. Rich, luscious dark raspberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits saturate the palate with an opulent textural feel and are framed by silky smooth tannins. Showing outstanding power and depth it has notions of spicy vanillin cedar, scorched earth and pepper flowing across the long sumptuous and lavish yet fresh finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
