2022 Bream Creek Pinot Noir
Planted in the early 1970's Bream Creek is amongst the earliest commercial vineyards planted in Tasmania. Fruit was initially sold to Moorilla Estate up until 1990 when the vineyard was purchased by Fred Peacock who established the Bream Creek brand and then went about increasing the plantings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Fred also introduced Sauvignon Blanc and planted the first commercial block of Schönburger in the Southern Hemisphere.
Bright dark red colour with black shaded edges and a luminous purple red hue. Intensely perfumed, the nose offers up captivating scents of violet, red cherry and strawberry followed by some anise, fresh herbs and delicate spicy cedar notes. Delicious ripe cherry, red liquorice and strawberry fruits decorate the palate with a supple and very expansive textural feel. Subtle anise, infusions of fresh herbs, forest floor and spicy cedar elements linger through the back half. Finishes fresh with silken tannins, superb power and abundant moreish appeal.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
