2022 Brokenwood Indigo Vineyard Chardonnay

Brilliant very pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Zesty grapefruit, nectarine and green apple aromas mix with roasted almond and gun flint notes. Energetic pear, green apple and grapefruit flavours are layered across the elegant palate with subtle biscuity oak evident on the fresh gun flint infused finish. Lively acidity with good depth to the long finely textured conclusion.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Hand-picked fruit, whole-bunch pressed, wild-yeast fermented and matured for 10 months in French puncheons (4% new). The bouquet has the carefully calibrated touch of funk used in some (though not all) of its chardonnays, translating to green grapefruit zest/pith/juice as a background for the white peach and cashew. Drink by 2033.
