2022 Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc

Brilliant very pale straw almost water like core with greenish tinged edges. Aromas of lime, passionfruit and herbaceous gooseberries are followed by some grassy asparagus, capsicum and flinty mineral notes. Racy, concentrated and texturally well rounded the palate is intensely flavoured with passionfruit, lime and green apple fruits which overlay a subtle herbaceous grassy and stony mineral back drop. Finishes dry and crisp with a long scrumptious aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

It has all the vibrancy of the variety with green apple, snow peas, guava and passionfruit pith, yet the palate is all about texture and drive. Juicy and tangy with talc-like acidity, while lemon curd and shortcrust pastry flavours add another level of detail. Moreish. Drink by 2024.
