2022 Clyde Park Single Block D Pinot Noir
Clyde Park Vineyard was established by Gary Farr in the late '70s and passed through several ownership changes; today Terry Jongebloed and Sue Jongebloed-Dixon are the owners, while Jess Robertson (previously at Punt Road Wines and Mount Langhi Ghiran) is the head winemaker. Clyde Park's uncompromising approach to winemaking and viticulture has put it at the forefront of the Geelong region's growth as a premium wine region of Australia.
Other Reviews....
Made from rows 55 to 77 from the 3.2ha, south-facing D block planted with MV6 between 1995 and 1998. Whole bunches (25%) and matured in 70% new oak. The prettiest and most delicate of Clyde Park's 2022 single-block wines. Aromas of satsuma plums, dark cherries, rose petals, incense and some potpouri notes. Sweetly fruited and finely tuned on the palate, there's a delicacy that's appealing. The tannins are silky and long and while this can be enjoyed in its youth, this has the potential to improve over the next six to eight years. Drink: 2023-2030.
