2022 Coates The Pinot Noir

Matured for 12 months in one third new French oak and 25% whole bunch fermented. Semi translucent dark red core with black toned edges and a bright red purple tinged hue. Gloriously perfumed, the nose offers up alluring scents of violet, red to dark cherries, wild strawberries and subtle anise followed by fresh herb, delicate forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Delicious red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits glide effortlessly across the supplely textured palate. Light on its feet and possessing polished tannins it shows excellent drive and freshness. Notions of subtle rhubarb, spicy cedar, forest floor and fresh herb infusions linger through the long, elegant finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
