The 2022 Mylor Syrah came from Kas Sluiter's vineyard in Mylor, which has less than a hectare of three Syrah clones. The soil is sandy over light clay, and the site is protected by a large hill, allowing for a slow and extended ripening process. The grapes were sorted, chilled overnight, destemmed, and then fermented for 12 days. After fermentation, the wine was transferred to a fiberglass tank, where it matured for 10 months on fine lees.

Other Reviews....
From the Kas Sluiter vineyard in Mylor, which sits in a bit of shadow during large parts of the day. Brought to life through fibreglass resting before bottling. Commune Of Buttons has really been upping the ante of late. I visited this week and things in barrel are looking superb. A respect to vineyard and site shines through.
This is great. Soft in texture, supple, succulent, dark fruited but with game meat and cola characters, faint earthy notes, a touch of paperbark, some alpine herb elements. I love the perfume. Addictive. The palate delivers deliciousness, similar characters to the scents, a generosity but freshness, lots of flavour, lots of character. The gist is a wine that flows beautifully and with freshness in tow. It feels so easy to drink, but fancy in a way too. Reminds me of Gramenon at its best, if you get that reference. If you don’t, simply, this is delicious. Drink 2023 - 2028.
