2022 Coriole Fiano
Fiano originates from a province in Campania, east of Naples and it’s perfectly suited to the McLaren Vale climate, so much so that it has become the regions fastest growing white wine category. Coriole planted Fiano in 2001 and their first commercial release was the 2005 vintage.
Twenty five percent of the blend was barrel fermented in older French hogsheads. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Delightful pear and red apple aromas show terrific lift out of the glass with some quince, fresh herb and wet stone notes also evident. Delicious pear, red apple and quince fruits carry a fleshy textural feel with wet stone and fresh herb characters the undercarriage. Finishes dry and crisp with a long stony mineral edged aftertaste.
Drink over the next year.
