2022 Crudo Shiraz

The cooler conditions in 2022 saw Luke Lambert deploy shorter maceration times to lessen the stalk influence, which, counterintuitively resulted in a more powerful wine than the 2021. The 2022 Shiraz was fermented wild (with 60% whole bunches) and raised in a 5,000-litre old oak cask.
Pitch black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple red hue. Fragrant freshly crushed blackberry and blueberry scents are interwoven with liquorice, fresh herb and dusty earth and pepper notes. Rich, juicy and energetic the palate is awash with blackberry and blueberry fruits. Infusions of fresh herbs, earth and peppered meat characters lie underneath. Fleshy mouth feel with polished tannins and lively fresh acidity. Concludes bright, savoury and succulent.
