2022 David Duband Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers Premier Cru
David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis, including prime holdings of retiring vigneron Jacky Truchot.
Other Reviews....
A more deeply pitched nose somewhat grudgingly offers up its array of poached plum, black cherry, spice and pretty violet whiffs. As would be expected, there is better volume to the sappy and equally refined medium weight flavors that also exude a subtle bead of minerality that adds a sense of lift to the impressively powerful, balanced and strikingly long finale. This too has excellent upside potential. Drink through 2034+.

Good pink purple colour with a burst of cherry infused energy, excellent intensity here, a couple of tannins to resolve – Sentiers is on the Morey side after all - but with plenty of weight for longer term ageing. Drink from 2030-2037.
