2022 Deep Woods Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Fruit is sourced from the Bridgelands Vineyard in Margaret River's Karridale region. The wine was fermented in tank to accentuate the pure fruit aromas, with a small fraction fermented in barrel to add complexity and texture, while still preserving aromatic freshness and length.
Brilliant water like colour with greenish tinged edges. Pungent grassy gooseberry, passionfruit and citrus scents are followed by some capsicum and flinty mineral notes. Showing terrific intensity and length, zesty passionfruit, Granny Smith apple and citrus flavours drive the mouth watering palate with notions of capsicum, herbaceous grassy characters and flinty minerals adding further interest. Crunchy acidity lending a zippy feel to the long passionfruit, capsicum and flinty mineral infused finish.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Partial barrel fermentation adds another dimension to the citrus, snow pea and passionfruit of the wine, the rich, varietally precise bouquet marking a multi-layered palate that takes barely a split second to fill every part of the long, lingering palate with its grapefruit and nectarine flavours. As usual, exceptional value. Drink 2023 – 2025.
