2022 Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres Premier Cru
Other Reviews....
This is the first wine to display anything other than very subtle wood and even here it's not intrusive on the overtly exotic aromas of white and yellow orchard fruit, spice and mineral-reduction. The sleek and markedly stony larger-bodied and surprisingly powerful medium-bodied flavors also coat the palate with dry extract on the powerful, clean and well-balanced finale. This should drink reasonably well on the younger side but repay up to a decade of keeping. Drink through 2030+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has much more mineralité and terroir expression on the nose that bursts from the glass. There is more intensity than the Les Referts. The palate is extremely well-balanced with superb poise and tension, perfectly judged acidity and an arresting, minerally, complex finish. This is a stunning Puligny from Bachelet-Monnot, and it comes highly recommended. Drink 2026-2045.

Mid lemon yellow. There is a little more generosity of fruit on the nose, this is properly ripe though it came in at 12.5%. It does not need any more. A little bacon fat reduction, perfectly balanced through the middle, enough acidity but not trenchant. More nuanced than Referts, on its way to becoming a very fine wine. Drink from 2028-2036.
