2022 Domaine Christian Moreau Clos des Hospices dans Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru
Domaine Christian Moreau is one of the most respected names in Chablis blessed with magnificent vineyard holdings in the best areas of Chablis. The highlights are undoubtedly the amazing range of Grand cru vineyards including one single holding of approximately 3 hectares in Les Clos as well as 0.41 hectares of Clos des Hospices dans Les Clos plus slightly smaller holdings in Valmur, Blanchots and Vaudesir. The wines are gaining in even clearer expression with the vineyards having been certified organic since 2013 and together with some new tanks and other investments the results are showing clearly in the wines with each vintage. These are wines of precision, crystal clear typicity, and elegance that will age classically while enabling tremendous enjoyment throughout their lives.
Other Reviews....
More apparent wood is present on the otherwise similar nose. There is however more richness and volume to the slightly bigger-bodied and more concentrated flavors that also brim with sappy dry extract while exhibiting outstanding length on the powerful and equally compact finale. This isn't quite as detailed, or as mineral-driven on the palpably citrus-inflected finish and overall, these two wines are qualitatively quite similar even if they offer two different expressions. Drink through 2032+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound
The 2022 Chablis Les Clos Clos des Hospices does not quite have the same level of complexity as the regular cuvée. Touches of yellow plum, white flower and sea spray. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity. Very harmonious and with just the right amount of spiciness toward the finish that leaves the mouth tingling. A hint of praline lingers on the aftertaste. What a classy offering. Drink 2027-2048.

Neal Martin - Vinous
100% in barrel, now racked to tank and assembled since mid May. The colour is a lively lemon yellow. Compared to the regular Clos the oak is rather more prominent, but it still struggles to contain the fruit. A faint dusting of coconut. A fabulous intensity of fruit with a lime acidity punctuating the middle. The crème patisserie of the oak will calm. Excellent aftertaste. Drink from 2030-2044.
