2022 Domaine du Pré Semelé Sancerre

The Domaine du Pré Semelé vineyards are primarily located on the slopes of Maimbray and Sury-en-Vaux, and on a smaller scale in the communes of Verdigny and Menetou-Ratel. All twenty hectares are farmed organically, divided into seventy parcels. The soils are clay and limestone based of which 70% are terres blanches (Kimmeridgian marl) and 30% is caillottes (Portlandian limestone). Today the estate is run by 4th generation brothers Julien and Clément Raimbault. All wines are 100% domaine grown with 80% being planted to sauvignon blanc and 20% to pinot noir.
Brilliant very pale straw colour with a watery hue. Lifted pear, lime and green apple scents mix with fresh herb, wet stone and subtle grassy notes. Crunchy lime and green apple fruits overlay a fresh herb, wet stone and herbaceous grassy background. Crisp mineral laced acidity with a dry refreshing finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
