2022 Freycinet Vineyard Chardonnay
Established in 1979 by Geoff and Susan Bull, Freycinet was the first commercial winery on the East Coast of Tasmania. Today daughter Lindy and partner Claudio Radenti who both have extensive winemaking experience from their travels around the world carry on the tradition.
Produced from Freycinet’s original 1979 plantings, fermented and maturated in French oak barriques with regular lees stirring to enhance texture.
Other Reviews....
The Freycinet chardonnay comes from the original 1979 planting and is aged in French oak barriques. Light straw in the glass. Aromatically it's quite a wide, expressive style with lemon butter-daubed peach, citrus and juicy nectarine fruits, spice, nougat, white flowers, vanillin oak and clotted cream. That East Coast acid kicks in on the palate, tightening the wine's waistband and propelling it forwards, finishing long, rich and mealy. Drink 2024 - 2029.
