2022 Garagiste Le Stagiaire Chardonnay
Fruit was sourced from the Mornington Peninsula sub districts of Balnarring, Tuerong, Merricks and Red Hill with maturation taking placing in 500 litre puncheons for a period of 8 months on lees in order to provide additional richness.
Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Lifted nectarine and white peach aromas are intermeshed with pear skin, subtle dried honey, citrusy nougat, biscuit and spice notes. Vibrant nectarine and pear fruits are complimented by traces of grapefruit, dried honey, biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and spice characters. Gently creamy in its feel and showing good intensity it finishes long and fleshy yet energetic. Great value Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13%
Other Reviews....
Year in, year out this is the best value chardy from the peninsula because of the quality, not simply the price. Refreshing citrus and white stone fruit, lovely palate weight, textural and even. The acidity leads everything to finish long. Nice one. Again. Drink by 2027.
