2022 Holm Oak Pinot Noir
Sourced from a wide variety of blocks across the Holm Oak estate with maturation taking place in a mixture of new (25%) and 1-4 year old French oak barrels for a period of 10 months.
Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light vibrant red hue. Delightful red to dark cherry and strawberry aromas subtly infused with violets show wonderful fragrance out of the glass. Subtle anise, forest floor, fresh herb and spicy cedar notes ensue. Supplely textured red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits unfold across the palate like a peacocks tail delivering terrific purity and power. Infusions of fresh herbs, delicate forest floor and spicy cedar elements linger through the long, sleek finish which shows ample freshness. Velvet smooth tannins with a long expansive, uber delicious aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews....
Several pinot noir clones harvested from many blocks across the Holm Oak estate; destemmed, wild ferment, matured for 10 months in French oak (25% new). Ruby red in the glass with aromas of dark cherry, red plum, wild strawberry and raspberry coulis with hints of spice, wildflowers, dried citrus rind, leaf litter and earth. Finely poised on the palate with a vivid mineral line, silky tannins and pure fruit finishing long, saline and lipsmacking showing excellent balance and tension across its length. Drink by 2034.
