2022 Jasper Hill Georgia's Paddock Nebbiolo

Georgia’s Paddock contains one hectare of low-yielding Nebbiolo, planted in 1993 on their own roots at an altitude of 320 meters. The dry-grown vines here have to rely on natural rainfall only, producing fruit with the immense concentration that the winery is known for. Vibrant crimson hue, an intense floral aroma featuring violet and rose, concluding with a red berry note. The wine starts with a gentle front-palate presence, gradually building to a surprisingly long finish. It reveals flavors of cherries, aniseed, and a hint of charred oak. The Nebbiolo's soft, understated tannins make it enjoyable for early consumption, and it promises an exciting evolution with time.
