2022 Linke Shiraz
Ultra rich with a liqueur like concentration and powerful finish that packs plenty of heat.
Located in Tanunda in the Barossa, Linke remains a 5th generation family owned producer. Their two vineyards - the "Stonewell Block" on the western side of the Barossa, and the "Dorrien" which is on the valley floor, consistently produce top notch fruit for renowned labels (including St Halletts and Langmeil). Since 2002, a portion of fruit has been reserved for the family's own label utilising vines that have an average age of 20 years old. Maturation is American oak, 90% used and 10% new.
Dense pitch black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Heady liqueur like scents of blackberry, liquorice and black plum engulf the nostrils trailed by some vanillin oak, hints of mocha and spice. Ultra rich, decadent and possessing a liqueur like concentration and density, the massively sized palate is saturated with lavish black plum, liquorice and black cherry flavours. Spicy vanillin oak, earth and subtle mocha like characters the back drop. Sturdy yet polished tannins with a powerful yet heat laden finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
