2022 Lone Star Creek Vineyard Pinot Gris
Brilliant apricot tinged colour with a watery hue. Aromas of pear and red apple skin mix with hints of honeysuckle and spice. The palate is layered with an enticing core of pear and red apple skin flavours. Some delicate citrusy quince and spice characters sit in the background. Finishes dry and fresh with a vibrant pear and red apple aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Other Reviews….
Every vintage of this wine has been rated at 93/100 here and, spoiler alert, so too this one. The ongoing quality of Lone Star Creek’s Pinto Gris is quite remarkable. This release is both bodied and poised, with nectarine and dry pear flavours edging into apple and more blossomy zones. Indeed you can add blackcurrant bud and nettle to that mix. There’s texture, there’s body, there’s length. It wouldn’t be hard to talk me up to 94. Drink 2023-2026.
