2022 McHenry Hohnen Laterite Hills Chardonnay
Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Elevated scents of nectarine, grapefruit and gun flint are intermeshed with hints of bees wax, lemon butter and toast. Nectarine, fleshy white peach and grapefruit flavours decorate the fresh mid weighted palate. Notions of lemon butter, roasted almond, delicate bees wax and infusions of gun flint lie underneath. Lively acidity with a long energetic finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.8%
Other Reviews…..
The sum of its parts as fruit comes off several vineyards. Pour away to enjoy the mélange of citrus, white nectarine, ginger spice, and mouth-watering sulphides and acidity. It’s juicy and tangy with a lean-ish palate, although it’s given some weight with nutty lees and a layer of creaminess. Drink by 2030.
