2022 Nicks Secret Martinborough Pinot Noir
The Nicks Secret Martinborough collection are produced by one of the pioneers and most renowned wineries of the region who are synonymous with producing world class Pinot Noir. Normally selling for anything up to $40 per bottle, this delicious Pinot delivers fantastic bang for your buck especially when one takes into account the difficulties of finding a decent $20 Pinot to begin with.
A rich and beautifully polished Martinborough Pinot which delivers out of the box value.
Matured for 10 months in French oak barrels. Semi translucent red to dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Unfurling from the glass with plenty of intensity are alluring dark cherry, violet, ripe strawberry and anise aromas followed by hints of forest floor, dried herbs and spice. Incredibly moreish and supple in texture the palate serves up dark cherry, anise and strawberry flavours which meld into a spicy cedar, dried herb and subtle forest floor back drop. Expansive and powerful it possesses silky smooth tannins, finishing long and spicy.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
Sweetly fruited and spicy at the same time, the enticing bouquet shows dark cherry, dried herb, warm mushroom and toasted nut aromas. The richly textured palate delivers expansive mouthfeel together with refined texture and beautifully infused tannins, finishing splendidly long and comforting. At its best: now to 2032.
