A powerhouse McLaren Vale Shiraz – densely fruited, energetic and muscular.

From vines planted in 1960 this vineyard is located in one of the highest and coolest areas of McLaren Vale with maturation taking place in a mix of new and older French oak puncheons and hogsheads for a period of 15 months. Magnificent depth of colour featuring a glass staining inky black heart with an equally deep black dark purple hue. Heady ripe blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas fill the nostrils followed by vanillin cedar, subtle scorched earth and balckpepper notes. A powerhouse of flavour, the palate is a super concentrate of blackberry, liquorice, black cherry and dark plum fruit with notions of spicy vanillin cedar, scorched earth and blackpepper lying underneath. Youthfully energetic it has an opulent yet inky feel and a robust yet well integrated tannin structure. Finishes long, densely fruited and muscular.
