2022 Paul Conti Cabernet Sauvignon

A generously fleshed, plummy medium bodied Cabernet blend.

A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Malbec matured in French oak (30% new). Dense inky black in colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Lifted blackcurrant and red plum aromas mix with cedary tobacco, earth and dried herb notes. Medium bodied, generously fleshed blackcurrant and plum fruits meld into a dried herb, earth and cedary tobacco back drop. Fine grained tannins with a plummy mid length finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Another of the wines Conti sources from his Margaret River vineyard. This is a firmish wine, reflecting this warm vintage, but its balanced with excellent depth of fruit. Shows a beautiful varietal integrity with blackcurrant and black olive nuances plus a trace of bay leaf. A small amount of malbec is added to bring more weight to that middle palate. Ideal wine for the medium term.
