Dark red core with black toned edges and a red to dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of violet, dark cherry, strawberry and anise blossom out of the glass trailed by some dried herb, earth and spicy cedar notes. Rich and fleshy textured yet possessing plenty of underlying freshness, the light to medium bodied palate features dark cherry, strawberry and subtle anise flavours. Beneath lie delicate smoky cedar, dried herb and spicy earth accents. Fine grained tannins with a bright savoury finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Made with 90% whole berries with a small portion of whole bunches. Matured in barriques (25% new). A medium, bright crimson red. An excellent set of regional Victorian pinots from Provenance in '22, this sits nicely between the Ballarat and Geelong versions. A mix of red and black fruits together with a little thyme and peony. Medium bodied, this silky-textured and well-balanced wine is ready to enjoy but, equally, will only become more complex over time. Drink by 2031.

Philip Rich – James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion

This is both lithe and sinewy. There’s macerated fruit, there’s an earthen aspect, there’s fragrant herbs and a meaty, bloody, rusty character. It doesn’t have a lot of volume but it makes the most of itself. Tannin is emery-board-fine, and length is very good. This is one of those wines that grows on you more and more, the longer you sit with it. It’s understated but it’s complex. Drink 2025-2029+
